Fgura Mass Thanksgiving Ceremony
The Grand Commandery of Malta organized a thanksgiving Mass at the Fgura Parish Church wherein all the officers and members of the Grand Commandery of Malta were present for the celebration.
The event was organized by the Commandery of De Rohan, led by its Commander, Chevalier Darren Marmara KLJ, who is also the Mayor of Fgura, a sprawling town to the South of Malta.
The event included a deputation from the Supreme Grand Priory, led by the Grand Chancellor, Chev. Massimo J Ellul GCLJ GCMLJ and a deputation from the representatives of England to the Order, led by Chevalier Derek W Cobbing KLJ.
Mass was celebrated by the parish arch-priest and his deputy and a full contingent of the Fgura Scout Group were also in attendance before, during and after mass.
After mass, all the members of the Fgura Scout Group were individually given the shoulder badge of the Order by the Grand Officers present, signifying the Order’s patronage of yet another Scout Group in Malta. The scouts then professionally organized themselves outside the parish square so as to salute the Officers of the Supreme Grand Priory and the Grand Commandery of Malta.
The event was closed by means of a speech from the Commander of De Rohan Commandery who then presented the Parish Priest of Fgura with specially bought trees for the landscaping of the Parish Square.
