Grand Prior of Ethiopia Receives People of Distinction Humanitarian Award (September 2016)
HIH Prince Ermias Sahle Selassie of Ethiopia, together with US Congressman Rob Wittman of Virginia were honoured with the 2016 People of Distinction Humanitarian Award on the 13th of September at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington DC. The founder of the annual award, Al Cole from CBS Radio, on behalf of the People of Distinction Humanitarian Foundation (PDHF) announced the Prince's award due to his prolific non-profit activities including his role as a cultural ambassador, as Patron of the Haile Selassie Fund for Children in Need and his work since 2011 within the Water Initiative for Africa, which is designed to providing clean water to impoverished regions in Ethiopia and Africa.
